THE ONLY COUNTRY WHERE PEOPLE LET ME CUT IN LINE
"Canadians help each other out!" - Mike
A CRAPLOAD.
"Beyond the physical, I am the amalgamation between my two homes—Korea and Canada. Being a 1st generation Korean-Canadian, I’ve struggled being in the middle of two opposing cultures. So to me, Canada means a crapload. It means the tears spilt between my family when we left our homeland, the frustration over forgetting my mother tongue, and the difficulty of fitting in. However, it also means the privilege of having unique opportunities, the joy of having Indian, Scottish, and Chinese friends, and the freedom to be both fully Korean and fully Canadian. Canada means a crapload because although Canada is just one country, it houses the whole world in its arms." - Olivia
I AM SERBIAN. I WAS BORN IN AUSTRIA. LIVED IN HOLLAND. CANADA IS MY HOME. I DON'T FEEL LIKE AN OUTSIDER HERE.
"Trying to escape socialism in the 70’s was difficult for my parents. They landed jobs in Austria where I was born. I then lived in the former Yugoslavia and Holland before coming to Canada. When my father reflects on the journey across Europe he says, “Canada was the first place I didn’t feel like an outsider”." - Dragan
AN IDEAL COUNTRY FOR ADVENTURES AND OPPORTUNITIES
"Canada is an advanced country that is multicultural and close to nature. This makes Canada to be so different. Since I came to Canada, everyday is like an adventure, with so much things and places to explore. However, it is not just an adventure, it is much more than that." - Duc
I CAN GROW UP TO BE ANYTHING I WANT TO BE - Mia
LOVE, EQUALITY, FREEDOM
"Love - we love our land, our people, our communities
Equality - we accept, welcome and respect all races, genders, and backgrounds
Freedom - we have opportunities and choices on how to live our lives" - Alison
MULTI-CULTURALISM!
"Canadians believe in equality, respect and support for all aspects of different cultures. My favourite part about Canada is going to the Taste of Edmonton and experiencing the different foods there." - Daniel
HOME
"Canada is an endless playground of places to see and landscapes to explore. I am continuously amazed by all of the beauty in my own backyard. There truly is no place like home." - Alyshia
